2. What this policy covers

This policy covers www.confluencebits.com. Our product UbiniOS has its own privacy policy, published at ubinios.com, which applies to that service.

3. Personal data we collect

Data you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, organisation, phone number if you add it, the topic you choose, and your message.
• Job applications: the CV and any details you send us by email.

Data collected automatically

• Analytics, only if you accept it in the cookie notice: the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device type and browser, and your country. Our analytics provider does not use cookies and does not identify you.
• Security: your IP address is used for a few minutes to limit abuse of the contact form. It is not stored with your message.
• Browser storage: your theme choice and your analytics choice are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.

4. Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry and discuss work with you, on the basis of your consent when you submit the form and our legitimate interest in responding.
• To consider your job application, on the basis of steps taken at your request before a contract.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest.
• To understand how the site is used, on the basis of your consent.
• To meet legal obligations that apply to us.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The site keeps two values in your browser's local storage: your theme preference and your answer to the cookie notice. Analytics is cookieless and runs only after you accept it. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the notice back.

6. Who we share it with

• Our email provider, which delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
• Our hosting provider, which serves the website.
• Our analytics provider, which processes aggregated usage data if you accept analytics.
• Professional advisers, regulators or courts where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

7. International transfers

Our hosting, email and analytics providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards permitted under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including contractual protections with those providers.

• Contact enquiries: up to 24 months after our last exchange with you, unless a project follows, in which case the project agreement governs.
• Job applications: up to 12 months after the role closes, unless you join us.

10. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time. This website is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
